How it Works

A minimally invasive treatment, microdermabrasion works to renew overall skin tone and texture. Using a diamond-tipped abrasive suction tool, the thickest outer layers of the skin are gently sanded away, taking with them aging skin cells, damaged skin layers and more, to reveal younger, healthier, fresher looking skin.

This micro-abrasion works to remove aged and damaged cells, helping to improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring etc, while truly deeply exfoliating, cleaning and cleansing the skin. The micro-tool suction action stimulates blood flow, promoting collagen and elastin production.

Pre-Treatment Advice
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure for two weeks prior to treatment. We are unable to treat sunburned skin.
  • Broken skin, open wounds and cold sores need to heal prior.
  • At times, some skins may not be suited to Microdermabrasion treatment. Unsuitable for active acne, extremely sensitive or inflamed skin conditions.
  • No treatment is possible if cessation of Roaccutane is less than 12 months.
  • Cease using retinols and active ingredients 48 hours prior.
  • Wait 2 weeks after any cosmetic injectables, IPL treatment, skin needling, waxing, low level peels or other skin treatments.
  • Wait 4 weeks after laser treatments.
  • Wait 6 weeks after medium or doctor grade peels.
  • Avoid spray tans and self-tanning solutions for one week prior.
  • Reschedule appointment if skin integrity is compromised.

Post-Treatment Advice
  • Avoid UV exposure and wear sunscreen.
  • After 24hours, resume your regular skin care routine.
  • Avoid touching your skin to prevent contamination.
  • Keep new skin clean and moisturised.
  • Wait 48 hours before resuming skin care products with active ingredients.
  • Wait 3 to 7 days before resuming topical acne medication (Retin A, Renova, Tretinoin, Avitra, Alustra or other brands.)
  • Wait 3 to 4 days before exfoliating.
  • Wait 48 hours before spray tanning or self-tanning solutions are applied.
