How it Works

Radiofrequency Skin Tightening is a non-surgical treatment which uses low energy radio-waves to heat the deeper dermis layers of your skin to vastly stimulate collagen production. Unlike other forms of electric currents, RF current flows safely and rapidly, moving freely through cells and tissues causing controlled dermal wounding.

A series of treatments is required at particular intervals to optimise the effectiveness and longevity of results. With proper maintenance and homecare the benefits can be enjoyed for up to 12 months.

Pre-Treatment Advice
  • Not suitable for those with pacemakers, internal defibrillators or other internal active devices.
  • Avoid a heavy meal and fatty foods for 1 hour before treatment.
  • Avoid caffeine 2 hours before treatment.
  • Avoid any alcohol 24 hours before treatment.
  • Drink 2 to 3 litres of water in the 24 hours before treatment.
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure on the area 2 weeks before treatment.
  • Avoid having any waxing, IPL, laser or skin needling treatments on the area for 2 weeks prior.
  • Cease using any active ingredient formulations 48 hours prior.
  • Remove all traces of makeup, skincare products or ointments prior to treatment.
  • Treatment not suitable where there is an active cold sore.

Post-Treatment Advice
  • Drink 2 to 3 litres of water in the 24 hours post treatment.
  • Only use lukewarm water and gentle cleanser on skin for 48 hours post treatment.
  • Avoid makeup for the first 48 hours post treatment. Use clean makeup brushes.
  • Avoid direct sunlight for 48 hours post treatment. Use sunscreen.
  • Avoid rubbing or touching the treated skin.
  • Wait 48 hours before recommencing use of active ingredient skincare products.
  • Expect some feeling of redness, tenderness or minor bruising for a few days to a week.

How it Works

Microneedling is a go to treatment able to reform multiple skin concerns. Microneedling works by creating thousands of controlled micro punctures, reaching the deeper dermal layers without damaging the visible outer layers. This controlled micro wounding stimulates the skins natural regeneration processes whilst increasing the production of collagen and elastin.

The process of micro needling and formation of new cells alleviates and minimises skin concerns while strengthening and conditioning the skin for more even and youthful looking skin.

If this is your first microneedling with Lovely, please note we require you to book a microneedling consultation prior to treatment. Microneedling treatments are most effective as a course of treatments, with each session building towards the targeted result.

What to Expect

Microneedling involves the use of a dermal needling pen, which contains multiple ultra fine needles. Although we use a mild numbing solution, the treatment will still be felt. Skin may feel pink or red and like a light dose of sunburn for up to 24 hours, and will calm over 48 hours. We work at varying depths to optimize your result at all stages across your course of treatments. Whilst some immediate results may be seen, the full results will be fully developed and realized in 10-12 weeks.

Pre-Treatment Advice
  • Avoid UV exposure two weeks before and after treatment.
  • Wait two weeks after last injectable treatment.
  • Cease using scrubs and chemical exfoliants, retinols and active skincare ingredients prior to treatment.
  • Avoid blood thinning agents for a week before treatment.
  • Cease taking anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen or Advil three days before your appointment as this can reduce the effectiveness of treatment.
  • Time waxing services at a minimum of two days prior to treatment.
  • Where shaving is necessary, do the final pre-treatment shave on the day prior.

Post-Treatment Advice
  • For the first 24 hours after treatment, avoid touching the area or applying any products onto the skin to prevent infection and allow the natural healing process to activate.
  • For the first 48 hours after treatment, avoid any anti-inflammatory medications after the procedure to allow the natural healing process to activate and achieve optimum results.
  • Avoid UV exposure and after 48 hours recommence wearing sunscreen.
  • Recommence your normal skin care routine from 48 hours as tolerated. Introduce active ingredients slowly.
  • Avoid exercise that induces sweating and excessive heat such as saunas and hot showers for 24 hours.
  • A cool damp compress may be used to gently soothe the skin.
  • Some dryness and possible flaking is a possible result for three to five days after treatment. Keep skin moisturised and allow any flakes to naturally flake away. Take care not to pick, scratch or scrub the skin flakes.
  • A follow up skin needling treatment is recommended every four weeks for optimum results.
  • No shaving or waxing until skin is settled and no longer red or sensitive.
  • No shaving within 2 – 4 days.
  • No waxing for 2 weeks.
